as seen at Maker Faire, Ney Day,
and Austin Tinkering School!
A Pottery Party is not a lesson, though you'll learn things. Wheel throwing lessons take a lot more time than we will have together. That's an investment. This, instead, is an occasion where your guests experience the feel of the wet clay in their fingers, the movement of the spinning wheel, and the wonder of seeing their own clay bowl taking shape.
It's a pottery experience!
~This activity is best for adults or children 6 years old or older.
~I set up my wheel and a side table with hand-washing station and towels at your home or business.
~I provide an informative pottery glossary and other hand-out materials for your guests to take home.
~I center the clay and provide hands-on support while your guests make their own little piece of porcelain magic.
~Younger guests get to wear one of Granny's snappy embroidered aprons so they don't get too muddy!
~Choose from an assortment of food-safe glaze colors.
~When the party's over I take the pottery pieces with me for finishing.
~In about two weeks I deliver the finished and glazed art collection to you for distribution to your guests. If you had a good time you can give me a review right here!
~Cost is $25 per person. Booking requires a non-refundable $25 deposit which is applied to your bill. The balance and release forms are due upon my arrival.
~I accept payment by cash, credit card, or PayPal (no checks, please).
~I don't charge a setup fee but I do have a 4 guest minimum, and 7 guest maximum.
~For the safety's sake, children must be able to follow short and clear instructions. Adult guests should avoid alcohol until after the pottery wheel.
I provide hands-on support.
